Amphitrite, the wave and the sea birds by Jørleif Uthaug, 1985

You'd come across this one in Porsgrunn, Norway — apparently one of the sculptor's best-known pieces, a steel sea goddess with a couple of birds pulling her along.

Erisava: The flight looks more real than Superwoman.

Pyramid Tower by Bert Flugelman, 1981

Stacked steel like this was a bit of a signature of his — there are related ones standing in a few Australian cities, from what I can find. Not much else about this particular one.

Erisava: This looks like it's here to make the office block behind it look important.

Espiral do Tempo by José Aurélio, 2009

I couldn't find much backstory on this one — the title apparently translates to 'Spiral of Time,' which tracks given the twist running up the steel.

Erisava: Would you look twice at this if it weren't in a park and this tall?

This caused a proper public row when it went up. It got nicknamed "the Yellow Peril", the council had it taken apart and shifted out of the way, and by most accounts it sat out of the centre of town for years before landing where it is now.

Erisava: Big, yellow and in the way. I'm not sure that's the same as good.
